Canada’s Airlines Reassure Canadian Travellers Ahead of Summer Travel Season

Ottawa, ON, June 2, 2026 – Jeff Morrison, President and CEO of the National Airlines Council of Canada (NACC), which represents Canada’s largest air carriers (Air Canada, Air Transat, Jazz Aviation LP and WestJet), issued the following statement today providing an update on the current aviation fuel situation and the upcoming summer travel season.

“The National Airlines Council of Canada’s member airlines – Air Canada, Air Transat, Jazz Aviation LP and WestJet – are reassuring Canadians that they can book their summer travel and beyond with confidence.

Canada’s airline industry is actively monitoring the global fuel situation and working closely with local and international partners to ensure a reliable fuel supply across all operations. Notably, fuel supplies in key summer travel destinations, such as Europe, continue to remain stable.

Canada’s airlines maintain rigorous, multi-layered mitigation measures and robust contingency planning to protect passengers from disruption. Air carriers are in constant, direct contact with their fuel suppliers and possess clear visibility into supply chain needs. At this time, the industry does not anticipate any significant disruptions to summer travel schedules.

Passengers are encouraged to look forward to their upcoming summer vacations, as airlines remain fully equipped and committed to delivering safe, reliable, and smooth travel experiences domestically and worldwide.”
