FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
OTTAWA, Ontario – The Board of Directors of the National Airlines Council of Canada (NACC) today announced that Maguessa Morel-Laforce has been selected as the association’s next President and Chief Executive Officer. Maguessa will begin his mandate on December 1, 2026, succeeding Jeff Morrison, who announced in May his intention to retire.
Maguessa was chosen following a comprehensive search led by the Board’s Search Committee with the support of global executive search firm Odgers. The process focused on candidates with proven leadership, strategic expertise and deep advocacy experience. Maguessa is a bilingual, senior government affairs, association, transportation, and public policy executive with an accomplished track record.
“Canada’s airlines play a central role in connecting Canadians and supporting jobs and economic growth. Maguessa brings the experience and judgment to advocate effectively for a competitive, affordable and accessible air sector, and the Board looks forward to working with him,” said Howard Liebman, Chair of the Board of Directors of NACC.
The Board and NACC’s member airlines extend their sincere thanks to Jeff Morrison for his service as President and CEO since 2022. Jeff led the association through the aviation sector’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and a period of significant regulatory change, strengthening NACC’s position as a leading voice for Canada’s largest passenger air carriers. His leadership, sound judgment and commitment to the industry leave NACC in a strong position for its next chapter.
