The aviation industry – a significant driver of the country’s economy

Pre-pandemic our members collectively carried over 80 million passengers annually, directly employed over 60,000 people and served as a critical component of Canada’s overall air transport and tourism sector, which supported more than 630,000 jobs.

With the help of more progressive and competitive support, the aviation industry can continue to drive Canada’s economy through job creation, trade and tourism.

Unlocking a Community’s Potential

  • Airlines stimulate trade, travel and tourism.
  • They link communities and families to one another and to the world.
  • They unlock a community’s potential and make it easier for Canadian businesses to access new customers and new markets.

These roles are especially important in Canada, due to the vastness of our country, our close family and personal ties to other countries and our reliance on international markets.
