OTTAWA, ON, March 16, 2015 – The National Airlines Council of Canada (NACC) welcomes today’s signing of the Agreement on Land, Rail, Marine and Air Transport Preclearance by the Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness and Jeh Johnson, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security.

“A secure and seamless passenger experience is a top priority for Canada’s major airlines,” said Marc-André O’Rourke, Executive Director of the NACC.

“We welcome the Government of Canada’s continued commitment to preclearance initiatives which will increase security and enhance passenger and trade facilitation when flying between Canada and the United States,” added O’Rourke.

The Agreement on Land, Rail, Marine and Air Transport Preclearance is a key part of the Beyond the Border Action Plan.
